Saying goodbye to summer has always been hard for me. The tan lines, sno cones and days spent in the sun playing with my kids is everything. There is only ONE thing that can pull me out of the end of summer sadness.. FALL FASHION! Hello September! Hello booties and sweaters and coats! Every year brings fresh new styles, trends, and WAY too many things I love. SO.. here are 6 of my fall trend obssessions.
First is ruffles. I mean it’s rufflemania out there and I am perfectly ok with that. Ruffles on tops, denim, shoes, you name it. I prefer this trend on a top. Whether its a blouse, sweatshirt or a sweater, all are great thrown back with a pair of jeans! Ripped in my case. Always ripped.
Clu Velour Sweatshirt $185
Bright red one shoulder top $38
Next up is Velvet. Velvet everything. I want to put on this velvet Misa Los Angeles dress below, throw my arms out like Stevie Nicks and dance in circles! However if you’re not feeling my groove then there are plenty of cool ways to incorporate velvet! Love this backpack (also a must have in my book) and darling bootie!
Misa Los Angeles dress $246
Rebecca Minkoff backpack $245
Dolce Vita booties $120
Okay so for those who are still with me you may be noticing a trend with in a trend?? Yes? No? PINK! I was so excited at fall market to see another color popping in everywhere besides your typical black, grey, and bordeaux. (which i love) I keep reading all about red this season. And hello we are in Norman, Oklahoma. We are the SOONERS. Red is ALWAYS A TREND here. So to see this rosy blushy whatever you want to call it pink is amazing and refreshing. Lots of options above and my absolute fave below.
Rag & Bone blush camo sweater $395
As a child of the eighties I am beyond thrilled with the ressurgence of embellishment and embroidery. I mean honestly slap a patch on me and stud me up, I’m all in. At Cayman’s we bought heavy in the denim jackets with pearl and stud embellishment. These pieces I feel are easier to create multiple looks with. Over a dress or back with a tee and jeans. Too cool for school. We also bought some great knitwear with the gucci-esque embroidery that can be dressed up or down. Church or lunch with the girls, you’ll turn some heads! And as bad as id like to buy a $5,000 Gucci sweater covered in glitter tigers and roses (insert wide eyed emoji) I’ll settle for this ultra cool look below from Central Park West.
CPW sweater $196
Frame Le Stud Jacket $449
Like it or not we have all seen the SLEEVE trend slowly happening. Whether it’s a cold shoulder, no shoulder, a rip, ruffle or puff. It’s safe to say EVERY sleeve this season will have something going on. I personally love love love this trend because most of these style are in the form of a t-shirt or sweatshirt. I have little ones so being casual and comfortable while playing at the park or running the toddler uber (haha) are important. Momma always has to have a little style!
Clu too sweatshirt $260
SLIDING into fall and the end of my very first blog post with the shoe that hasn’t died. I say that with alot of love. I wore it last season and I will be sporting it all this season long. The mule, the slipper, the slide, the shoe with no back. I love this shoe for many reasons. 1. It’s comfortable 2. It’s super versatile. It can go from day to night, dressy to casual. Pair it back with pants or a dress on work days and ripped up jeans on the weekends! You will catch me looking like a total celeb when I am sporting mine to spin with my leggings! (i really need emojis) The update to this style is the version you will see below where it can be a loafer or fold the back down and it’s a mule!
Rag & Bone loafer/mule $395
Rebecca Minkoff bow slipper $135
